Oxygenation Equipment for Sustainable Agriculture
Intelligent oxygenation for sustainable agriculture
BIHOX® is an oxygenation device, designed and patented for use in different agricultural processes, which allows us to take advantage of the multiple benefits provided by the molecules generated by its technology.
THEY TALK ABOUT BIHOX®
BENEFITS
Oxygenate intelligently
Gently supplies oxygen to the root system and substrates without over-oxidising. Improves soil quality, helps to increase the availability of nutrients, active organisms in its composition and the dissolution of salts. It reduces plant water stress and improves the efficiency of photosynthetic processes.
Tests carried out at the Vicar Agricultural School.
Increases crop yields
Stimulates root growth and increases plant and fruit health. Increases the earliness, quantity and size of fruits. Prepares crops for elements that threaten their health.
Study carried out at the Cajamar Experimental Centre in Las Palmerillas, Almeria.
Saves water and fertiliser
The lower surface tension of the water treated with BIHOX significantly increases its percolation capacity so that the fertigation reaches the root zone more efficiently, avoiding losses due to evaporation and achieving a more efficient use of such important resources.
Study carried out at the Cajamar Experimental Centre in Las Palmerillas, Almeria.
Reduces the presence of pathogens and increases soil flora
It creates a hostile environment for anaerobic pathogens while enhancing the soil flora/microbiota that benefit from the gentle oxygenation provided by BIHOX.
Study carried out by IFAPA
Increases fruit longevity
Foliar treatments and post-harvest washing with water treated with BIHOX extend the commercial state of the fruit.
Study carried out at the Cajamar Experimental Centre in Las Palmerillas, Almeria.
Saves phytosanitary products
The lower surface tension of the water treated with BIHOX has a greater coverage effect at foliar level, so that with less product the same result is achieved. Reinforcement by foliar treatments with only treated water and no product helps to prevent and keep pests at bay.
Optimises irrigation efficiency
Treatment with BIHOX provides the water with a surfactant capacity that cleans and keeps the inside of the pipes and drippers of any irrigation system free of biofilm, preventing blockages. It helps to reduce the frequency of filter self-cleaning cycles and avoids the need to use aggressive chemical products and stops to clean pipes and drippers.
It produces thicker stems and increases the production of resins that keep insects away
It generates an oxygen-enriched environment that helps keep pathogenic microorganisms away.
HOW IT WORKS
By means of a process based on Advanced Photocatalysis Technology we generate, from the humidity of the environment, a series of natural molecules that we integrate into the water in the form of microbubbles. The gas, gently oxidative and beneficial for agricultural processes, consists of hydroxyl groups (OH-) and (OH), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in very low concentration (0.5 ppm / 0.0005%) and superoxides (O2-).
The molecules provided improve the physicochemical and biological properties of the water, achieving a series of very important benefits for agricultural processes. Treatment with BIHOX® reduces the surface tension of the water and increases its surfactant capacity while providing extra oxygenation that reaches the substrate and the plant.
The irrigation water treated by means of the BIHOX® device goes out to the drippers or dispersers, injected and mixed with the molecules generated, which the adapter integrates in the form of micro-bubbles in the water flow in a stable, continuous, controlled and non-replenishing manner.

WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
BIHOX® is an oxygenation device developed and manufactured by Waterhox S.L.
We are a young and innovative company that aims to help in the necessary transition towards a more sustainable, more efficient and more profitable global agriculture. We aim to help minimise the environmental impact of this sector and achieve greater profitability in irrigation, fertilisation and phytosanitary processes.
The Waterhox management team is formed by Pelayo Fernández Fdez, BS Suffolk University, Boston MA, USA. and Marcos Parra Jodar, Industrial Technician, two entrepreneurs with more than twenty years of experience in the commercial world. The deep knowledge of photocatalysis technology for air and water treatment and the fact of living in an environment of precision agriculture such as Almeria, have been the keys for the development and market launch of BIHOX®.
